Catechism at Grace ~ 2022-2023
Starting in September 2022, we will be encouraging the congregation to commit to memory the truths of Scripture as expressed in the New City Catechism, which is a modern combination of the traditional Westminster and Heidelberg Catechisms. We plan to confess together one question and answer each week during worship over the coming year. Below, you will find an introduction to the Catechism and why we are doing this, as well as links to mobile and web apps, the question of the week, a short devotional, and a brief video from one of our pastors. We hope you will take this opportunity to look at the God of the Bible and meditate on truths from the Word as presented in the Catechism.
Available for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, The New City Catechism mobile app makes it easy to take all 52 questions and answers with you wherever you go.
The free app pairs each question and answer with a Scripture reading from the ESV, a short prayer, and a devotional commentary written by contemporary pastors, including John Piper, Timothy Keller, and Kevin DeYoung, and historical figures, such as Augustine, John Calvin, Martin Luther, and many others.
The app also includes kid-friendly songs designed to help children memorize the entire catechism.
